On October 21, a condensing power plant (KES) was opened at  JSC “Rustavi Azot” ,equipped with the latest technologies of SIEMENS Steam Turbine Generator. Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry  Mrs. Turnava, Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili, the region governor Shota Rekhviashvili, Irakli Tabaghua Mayor of  Rustavi, representatives of Company SIEMENS, as well as central and local government and private sector representatives  attended  at the opening ceremony of the plant.

The condensing power plant is  equipped with a  steam condensing turbine of SIEMENS SST-300 with nominal 9.0 MW power.

Steam Turbine Generator generates energy through the steam generated during the technological process  of the nitric acid plant  and was wasted unused.

The present power plant provides 20% of the total electricity needed for the production of JSC  ” Rustavi Azot” that uniquely enables the company to buy 20% less electricity  on  the wholesale market.
