"I am pleased to have had the opportunity today to participate in the opening of a new condensing power plant of the largest industrial flagship, JSC " Rustavi Azot, " Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, said in a conversation at opening of Rustavi Nitrogen Condensing Station.

According to her, the introduction of new technologies by JSC “Rustavi Azot" and the opening of a condensing power plant proves once more  that the energy reform is developing  in the right direction.

"We opened the electricity market this year, and manufacturers like JSC “Rustavi Azot"  came out on the competitive market   energy working for efficiency and energysafety.  The steam resources that  bursted  into the atmosphere will now work for the enterprise  and  reduces  20% of power consumption that will increase the salaries of those 2 000 people who are employed here, "said Natia Turnava.

A condensing power plant (KES) has been opened in the area of  JSC “Rustavi Azot" , equipped with the latest technologies of the company "Siemens" steam turbine generator.

Electricity is generated with the  steam generated by the plant in a technological process that has never been used before. The power plant provides 20 percent of the total electricity needed for the plant.

JSC “Rustavi Azot"   invested $ 5.5 million for the condensing power plant project.
